About

I was born into a home with a dictionary on the kitchen table. Naturally playing with language has been a lifelong passion!

In college, I switched from English to visual arts, earning a degree in studio art at UC San Diego.

But when a copyediting job opened up at a skateboarding magazine, I returned to working with words. Later I earned a copyediting certificate through UC San Diego Extension. I love to help people refine their stories and have helped authors polish their work in poetry, memoir, self-help, spirituality, skateboarding, health science, health, and well-being. I obsess about detail (like most editors) but respect an author’s choices and styles, and I’ve studied compassionate editorial communication.

Helping authors use inclusive, nonbiased language is a joy.

Together, a writer and a good editor (or more—it takes a team sometimes!) can help change the world for the better.

A lovely mountain walk in New Mexico!
